How it works

From a first note to a working rulebook.

Every engagement follows the same route. The details differ, and the written quotation is where they are fixed.

  1. The initial enquiry

You write a few sentences: the site or sites in scope, who publishes today, and where things break down. General business information is enough at this stage; there is nothing to prepare formally.

  2. Questions, then the written scope

We reply with the questions that decide the scope: page counts, contributor numbers, tools in use, the rules already in force. From the answers we draft the scope of the engagement.

  3. The written quotation

The quotation names the scope, what will be handed over and in which formats, the timetable, the revision rounds covered and the entire price in pounds sterling, taxes included. It does not grow once issued. The engagement is made once the quotation is accepted in writing and our order confirmation has gone out.

  4. Your materials

You supply what the scope names: page inventories, current rules, contact points for the people involved. Material arrives digitally, in whatever shape it already exists.

  5. The agreed work

Frameworks, workflows and documentation are drafted against the scope, shared for review at the points the quotation names, and revised within the allowance it includes. Changes beyond the allowance are agreed and priced in writing before any work on them is done.

  6. Digital handover

Everything is delivered electronically as editable files, with handover notes on how each piece is used and kept current. Nothing is posted, and no physical material changes hands.

If materials arrive late

The schedule in the quotation assumes your materials arrive at the agreed points. When they arrive later, the schedule moves with them, and the revised dates are confirmed in writing. Nothing is silently rushed to meet a date.

If the scope needs to change

Work beyond the agreed scope gets its own written quotation first. The original quotation stays as it was unless both sides agree otherwise in writing.
